The owner of this 1946 Ford Panel Van is a local antique dealer who intends to use it as his daily-driver delivery vehicle.  This includes the original flat-head drivetrain!  But to make it more reliable and safe in city traffic, he wanted the suspension upgraded to modern specs.

The truck came into the shop bone stock.  It was then disassembled.  The frame was cleaned and modified, moving the cross-X for an automatic transmission.  The front suspension has been converted to IFS using a Scott's Hotrods & Customs kit.  The rear has also been converted, replacing the transverse leaf with a No Limit parallel leaf kit.  The frame was then powder-coated and suspension reassembled.  Custom dash and interior work was done to accommodate a modern tilt steering column.  And the body has been jammed in preparation for a complete paint job.

The Scott's IFS conversion is beefy
and can handle the rigors of daily use.

The No Limit parallel leaf conversion uses fairly simple
leaf-spring mounting hardware and keeps costs low.
